Expect the Best! ? One-Stop Business & Career Center Prepares to Celebrate National Customer Service Week October 3 ? 7

Nearly everyone is in the customer care business. Whether you answer phones all day, tend to patients, teach students or help prepare payroll, you have customers. The One-Stop Business & Career Center would like to invite area businesses and agencies to join them in celebrating great service and service providers.

Nationally, Customer Service Week is an event devoted to recognizing the importance of customer service and honoring the people that provide great service. It was started by the International Customer Service Association in 1988 and is always the first full week of October.

?This year?s theme is Refresh, Recharge, Reconnect,? said Christine Hoxsie, Staffing Specialist. ?In today?s economy, businesses are doing more with less and expectations are high. Providing excellent service is more important than ever. Celebrating and focusing on service is a great reminder how the small things add up to loyalty and retention.?

Activities Planned for Expect the Best Customer Service Week and the month of October
? Secret Shoppers are out and about prepared to catch great service in the act. Winners will receive a certificate of excellence and a gift donated by a local business. If you would like your business to be shopped, email Christine at choxsie@ncen.org.

? Businesses and agencies can attend a customer service training. Customer Service Training Camp: Refresh, Recharge, Reconnect is a 1-hour, fast paced session geared to revisit key skills with all staff. Camp times are available Wednesdays in October: 10/5 at 10am, 10/12 at 2pm, 10/19 at 10am and 10/26 at 2pm. The cost is just $20 per person. The camp session is being provided by trainers Amanda Wigno and Kathy Garcia. Seating is limited. Call to reserve your spot.

? Celebrate with your staff! Throw a party! Thank your customers. Give out treats. Put up a banner. Celebrate and reward great service!
